Captain James is certainly a force to be reckoned with! To be a Captain as talented, competent and as impressive as James it usually takes a life time of experience.

James spent the past 6 years skippering and engineering on private yachts up and down the East Coast before settling on a 24m yacht based in the Whitsundays. This was the time James learnt the Whitsunday Islands inside and out, spending each week exploring around the islands with owners and guests.

James excelled as a skipper to earn his place as the Captain on board ALANI. Whilst enjoying his spare time either on either wake board, foil board or snow board! You might also catch him on a mountain bike (although he is pretty quick on that too!)

Being talented is one thing, but James’s calm nature and friendliness makes everyone feel at ease, your charter will be one to remember!

ELIZABETH FISCHER

CHEIF STEWARDESS

Introducing our secret weapon, ELIZABETH FISCHER

Hi my name is Elizabeth Fischer.

I grew up in a small boating town called Kent Island MD, USA.

The water has always been close to my heart. Back in 2015 I had my first yachting job as a junior stewardess on a 47 meter Triumphant Lady. From there I have worked on anything form a 24 meter – 73 meter for both private and charter.

About my second year into yachting I had a captain take me under his wing and taught me all aspects of the vessel giving me a solid year of experience on the exterior as well. Interior will always be my favourite due to the planning of events, service, and being able to put together a beautiful experience for guest.

Working my way up to larger vessels as chief stewardess gave me great experience and loved every minute of it but am so grateful for Alani because it is such a well rounded roll that allows me to use both my skills interior and exterior. Over my yachting career I have been lucky enough to travel the East Coast of America, Caribbean, BVI, Turks and Caicos, Honduras, Mexico, Guatemala, Jamaica, Panama, and Whitsundays Australia.

When we are not traveling you can always find me on one of the local hiking trails or lounging by the beach in a nice shady spot. So grateful life has brought me to this stunning part of the world to be working with such a lovely crew.

“Born from the icy depths of Lake Tahoe nestled in the snow-tipped mountains of the Sierra Nevada; molded by the wind-swept sands of the high desert he once called home; this man moves ever forward into the vast unknowns. Expanding his horizons, his gaze has turned to the sea. Adventure is no stranger to him. He has experienced the life of scholar and warrior; builder and destroyer; friend and foe; artist and entrepreneur. The only frontier still a stranger to his soul is the outer reaches of deep space, to which there is no doubt he will eventually go. Blayke A.P. Olson. Blayke with a “Y” as he’s sometimes called. Born with the question in his name he has always charged “Why not?”  – Blayke Olson.

I have spent the past few years working aboard vessels on the high seas as a deckhand. It didn’t take long for me to realize my potential in the industry, encouraging me to pursue and acquire a commercially endorsed Master of Yachts Limited 200 Ton license. After completing two years of service with M/Y Ice Bear, I — along with my newfound best friend and partner, Lisa — set out to explore “the outback” of her upbringing, Australia.  We are enduring and our new adventure has brought us to Hamilton Island; a paradise we never expected to find.

I enjoy anything to do with a new experience. Bonus points if it includes the outdoors in any way; you can almost guarantee I will be completely immersed in it. Rock climbing, Yoga, scuba diving, sky diving, mountain climbing, hiking, cycling, snorkeling, ATV and off-road vehicles, winter mountain sports… just to name a few.
